The much-anticipated Staten Island Oktoberfest is back and bigger than ever!  Hosted by the five Rotary Clubs of Staten Island (Gateway, Mid-Island, North Shore, Staten Island, and South Shore) and Rolling Thunder Chapter 2, this year’s celebration will take place at its new home, Staten Island University Hospital Community Park, home of the Staten Island FerryHawks, in St. George.  Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 5, 2024, for a day filled with fun, great food, and festivities, all in support of local veterans.

This community event not only brings together the spirit of Oktoberfest but has been a cornerstone in fostering community spirit and providing critical support to past members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

“We’re thrilled to continue this memorable tradition with amazing partners in our new venue,” said Christine DeHart, Past President North Shore Rotary who is the Oktoberfest event organizer.  Last year, we had to cancel the event due to inclement weather, but with our new location at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park, we can ensure that the event will take place rain or shine.  The Staten Island Oktoberfest has always been about community, camaraderie, and giving back.  We’re excited to bring everyone together for an unforgettable day while supporting those who have served our great Country.”

Eric Shuffler, President of the Staten Island FerryHawks, expressed his enthusiasm for hosting the event at the stadium.  “Staten Island University Hospital Community Park is the perfect location for Oktoberfest.  Owner John Catsimatidis and I are committed to making the venue a community asset and we are proud to partner with Rotary and Rolling Thunder to support our local veterans.  We look forward to welcoming the community for a day of celebration and fun.”

The family-friendly event promises something for everyone:

  • Kids’ games and activities: Plenty of entertainment to keep the little ones engaged.
  • Local vendors: A variety of booths offering unique products and services.
  • Traditional German folk music: Enjoy the authentic sights and sounds of Oktoberfest.
  • Delicious food: Indulge in bratwurst, sauerkraut, pretzels, potato pancakes, and treats.
  • Beer: A selection of German and local brews to toast the occasion.

Since its inception, Staten Island Oktoberfest has welcomed over 20,000 revelers from across the tri-state area and has raised over $200,000 to support our veterans.  This year promises to be the best yet, with new attractions and a fantastic venue.
